If you don’t have a favorite poem, go get one.
Or write one.
Or write one leaf about why you don’t read poetry, but do not write one leaf about why you don’t read poetry without first reading some poetry, because if you do, you will likely be making assumptions about poetry that are untrue.
William Butler Yeats may not be my favorite poet (I’m not sure if I do have a favorite), but I do love his hair! He is one poet I still remember about learning in senior year of High School. I did really like his poetry, but I think I found his life just as interesting. <3 Otherwise, I am not sure exactly why I don’t read poetry. I do love novels: fantasy, romance, adventure. Anything with good characters really! I just sometimes feel that poetry is very analytic to really understand it, and you can’t appreciate it until you truly understand it? Yes, that was a question. Maybe I’ll start a new years resolution list. One of the items will be- “read ten new poems this year.” Is ten a good number? Well, it’s a good start!
